April Fools Day.

April Fools day means I must be on my top guard today!  Why?  Because of an old college friend named Frankie.  We have played pranks on each other over the years.  April 1 is the one day that each of us knows for a fact, the other is thinking “What is he up to today!”  Fact is that many years go by where neither of us actually prank the other, but we know the possibilities are strong.

This year I planned a prank, however it will only be carried out partially.  I created a flyer advertising a Goat Race and Pig Pickin’.  The idea was to advertise it in the classified section of the paper where he lives.  However since I had in the ad that it benifited the FLYOD Scholarship fund, the paper wanted to publish it for free.  I felt that would have been unethical, so I told the girl it was a prank.  She thought it was funny, but apparently her supervisor did not think so.  The supervisor called me back and refused to print the ad.

However, all is not lost.  I did manage to have some flyers handed out in the area he lives in and hope some people do call him.  I also had a flyer mailed to him from another state (one that I nor he lives in).  The flyer should get to him after April 1, so he can see what it said.

Now I am just waiting for my phone to ring.  The clue that indicates it was a prank by me is the misspelling of his name.  I always spelled Floyd as F L Y O D when we were in school.  Every time he sees his name misspelled, he thinks of me.  So it is the clue as if he needs one.
I will let write how it goes in a later posting.  Until then, do you have a goat you would like to enter into his race?  If you enter a goat, you get 2 free tickets to his pig pickin. :)
