I started back to on-campus classes. I am taking financial accounting and intro to computer science (C++). I think I will enjoy both classes, however since I have had exposure to both subjects, they are starting slow! I am wishing I had taken a third class now.
I had three accounting classes 15 years ago and I worked in accounting for 2 years for Mack Trucks. So I should do okay in the accounting class. Everything is coming back to me as I read the book. In class, I am amazed at some of the questions as they would all be answered if people would just give the class time to roll forward. I believe it will get a little harder, but for now, it is easy.
The C++ class was also very basic for the first night. Since I had some programming classes 15 years ago and I have dabbled with programming in other languages, this class shouldn’t be too hard. Especially since this class is part one of two, and the good stuff comes in the second part. I don’t have to take the second part as a requirement, but I might depending if I can fit it into my schedule in January. I have always wanted to learn C++, so it should be fun.
The last eight weeks has been a nice break from school. I did have to continue with one online class in advanced computer applications. However I only needed to spend an average of about 1 hour a week on that subject. I haven’t seen my final grade, but I know my assignment grades and test scores and I should have a solid A in th class! My final exam was posted yesterday and I received a 100!
On Wednesday, I start back with Fundamentals of financial accounting and intro to Computer Science (C++ programming). I look forward to these classes, though I will be attending them on campus Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. I normally try to limit my on campus classes to two nights per week, but the schedule just didn’t allow it this time. Next session I will be back to two nights a week with continuing the C++ class and managerial accounting, plus an online course in Information Systems Management. That all equates to 4 classes for the semester.
I am still on track to finish my degree in May of 2009. Looking forward to that time!
Looking for something different and fresh for lunch or dinner? The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley is a great new shopping center in the Lehigh Valley. It has several places to eat while shopping, however I have discovered a great new place. The Pita Pit !
I wasn’t impressed when I heard of this place opening. In fact, when my wife suggested we try it, it didn’t really appeal to me. But after eating there, I was hooked! Great taste and a good value for the price! I now prefer to eat there when we go to the Promenade shops.
Think of a Sub-Way, but replace the bread with a pita pocket and include more ingredients and you have a visual of this place. First you decide on what meats you want in your pita pocket. Then while they are heating or cooking the meat on the grill, you look at the fresh vegetables, cheeses, and sauces and choose what you want in the pita pocket. By the time they stuff all that into the pocket, your meat is ready to be added and then rolled up. Talk about filling… The first time I ordered, I also ordered chips. After that, I realized adding chips was just too much. One pita pocket is more than one large appetite can handle!
I am impressed with this place and it looks like other people are as well. I have not visited this place when there weren’t a steady stream of people going in and out. If this place keeps up with it’s cleanliness, it’s generous amounts of fresh ingredients, and it’s friendly young staff, then this place will be a great asset to us all! If you haven’t tried it yet, you must! I don’t think you will regret it!
Enjoy
I love this picture! My goal is to have many more times with these two and books! (click pic to see a larger image)
